One woman is dead and a teen is injured in a wrong way crash.
The California Highway Patrol said that a woman was arrested after a wrong way driving incident on I 280 near San Mateo.
A white 2010 Ford sedan was travelling north on I 280. When it crashed into a black BMW SUV in the fourth lane near State Route 92. The driver of the BMW died in the crash. She was said to be a woman in her 40s. A 14 year old boy was in the front passenger seat of a car and was taken to a hospital with major injuries.
A 24 year old woman from Campbell was behind the wheel of the Ford. Martin was charged with vehicular manslaughter. She was taken to a hospital for serious injuries. A toxicology report is pending, and police don’t know if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
The three lanes that were closed for over an hour were reopened at 6 p.m. Drivers are advised to take alternate routes due to heavy traffic in the area. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Office M.
There was another one in the North Bay on Saturday morning. A truck heading north collided with another vehicle.
